A one-day workshop on Solar Photovoltaics System Design and Installation Orientation Program was conducted by VLSI Society of India in cooperation with IEEE CAS Bangalore Chapter and PragaTI, TI India Technical University. The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Ashok Rao. He was assisted by Mr. Jai Swamy from SELCO. The workshop included half day of theoretical exposition of concepts related to Solar Photovoltaics. During the second half, the participants did a hands-on lab session where they made measurements on the solar photovoltaic modules provided by SELCO.

There were 15 participants from different institutions, including two from outside Karnataka. The workshop was highly interactive. Certificates were provided to the participants. At the end of the workshop, several participants showed keen interest in getting involved in a two-week internship to work in remote villages on applications of Solar PV.
