February 12, 2010; Chennai:  The VLSI Society of India, Student chapter was inaugurated on 12th February 2010 at Easwari Engineering college, Chennai. The event began with a devotional invocation, and the traditional Lighting of Kutthuvilakku by the dignitaries and committee members. Dr.K.S.Srinivasan, Prof/Head of the Department ,ECE delivered the welcome address. The college Principal, Dr.AK.Abdul Ghani addressed the gathering and conveyed his wishes to the members of the society. Mrs.S.Murugappriya, AP/ECE, and co-ordinator, VLSI Society of India introduced the office bearers.

 

Chief Guest Dr.C.P.Ravikumar, Secretary, VLSI Society of India was welcomed and introduced by Mr.Arivuselvam, Lecturer/ECE. Dr.C.P.Ravikumar gave an insight into the VLSI technology and briefed about the VLSI Society of India activities. He appreciated the interest evinced by the members in forming the Society student chapter in this college. In this regard , he handed over the sponsorship amount for the National Conference VCAN-2010. The event ended with a Vote of thanks by the President of the chapter, Mr.Sri Ganesh.
